We design products that are inspiring, original, and built to last. From furniture to functional art, our approach blends industrial precision with bold creative instinct.
With a strong background in hands-on manufacturing and high-end product development, we bring deep expertise to every new brand we launch.

Jon Ball
Creative Director
Jon has over a decade of experience leading design-focused manufacturing businesses, including as co-founder of Steel Vintage Ltd (2011–2024), which became internationally recognised for its industrial-style furniture.
He brings strong expertise in production, branding, and business operations.
Martin Ball
Design Director
Martin is the visionary behind our designs.
With a background in product design, visual arts, and music, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to each new creative challenge.
He also co-founded Steel Vintage Ltd and was instrumental in developing its signature design style.

Founded by the creators of Steel Vintage, Ball & Bear reflects a new chapter in our design journey. Focusing on designing incredible executive furniture, Ball & Bear will offer the very finest bespoke products.
Our Credentials
We co-founded Steel Vintage Ltd in 2011 and led it for over a decade, growing it into a globally recognised name in premium industrial-style furniture. Our portfolio included office furniture, storage, seating, beds, and kitchens – all crafted with precision and distinct material combinations such as polished steel, brass, copper, oak, and walnut.
During this period, we delivered work to high-profile clients including Rolex, Fred Perry, and Cloud Imperium Games. At its peak, Steel Vintage employed over 20 talented furniture makers, designers, and support staff, generating over £2 million in revenue.
Although Steel Vintage Ltd ceased operations in 2024, the knowledge, creativity, and craftsmanship we developed remain at the core of everything we do today.
All past references to Steel Vintage Ltd are included for context as part of our personal design history. Brands By Ball Ltd and its associated brands are entirely separate and unaffiliated with Steel Vintage Ltd or its intellectual property.
